NYX Solar began because of a problem we experienced ourselves — and it became something we realized we could offer to others.
As our Fiber Ready network grew, our servers and network equipment became increasingly dependent on reliable electricity. An internet connection means very little when the infrastructure behind it goes offline during a power interruption.
We needed a better way to keep our equipment running.
Solar energy became the answer.
But we didn’t want to simply buy equipment, install panels, and assume we knew enough. We wanted to understand how a solar system actually works — from load assessment and system sizing to panels, inverters, batteries, protection devices, wiring, installation, and system commissioning.
That led us to pursue formal solar training and develop a team with trained and certified members who could approach installations properly and safely.
What originally started as a solution for our own infrastructure eventually became something we realized we could offer to others.
Today, NYX Solar focuses on designing and installing solar energy systems for residential and commercial applications.
Our approach begins with understanding the customer’s actual electricity consumption rather than simply recommending the largest system possible.
We evaluate the property’s monthly consumption, daytime and nighttime loads, high-demand equipment, available installation space, and backup requirements before recommending an appropriate system.
We’ve also spent time evaluating different system configurations and equipment — from panel capacity and inverter sizing to battery storage, MPPT limits, breakers, wiring, mounting systems, and other balance-of-system components. The goal is to build systems around the customer’s actual requirements rather than using a one-size-fits-all package.
For us, solar isn’t simply about putting panels on a roof. A properly designed solar system should answer three questions:
How much power do you actually need?
How much can solar realistically provide?
How can we build the system safely and reliably for the years ahead?
That’s why our work covers the process from initial assessment and system design through installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support.
